A Boy Named Rohit

As many of you know, our still developing ministry site in southern India is meant to be a place for needy and orphaned children. It’s been months in the making with preparations underway to ready the property to accept children, provide housing, give them an education, and a place to call home. It hasn’t always been easy. There have been countless obstacles along the way, but Barnabas has been faithful to follow the Lord’s call to reopen this once closed school, and create a space to share the Gospel and be the hands and feet of Christ.

Coach Aubreys Story

Each of our Sports Outreach coaches, both domestically and internationally, have their own story and passions. Their stories and passions along with the use of sports ministry give them the ability to disciple and impact lives that may be living a similar story to theirs. Our newest Coach, Aubrey, is doing just that. She shared with us how becoming a coach with Sports Outreach is an answer to prayer, that now allows her to influence and speak truth to women who are in a position she was once in. The Mission Continues

A single soccer ball was what started the creation of Sports Outreach over 30 years ago. When our founder, Russ Car, was visiting Uganda he threw a soccer ball in the middle of a field and began to play with the team he had brought. As the game progressed, more and more children from the community began to join in the game. It was then that he realized that sports could be used as a tool to gather people together and share the truth of the Gospel with them. That became the foundational mission of Sports Outreach and it continues to be carried out today.
